On June 8, 2025, Telling Queer History hosted its final major event at Queermunity in Uptown Minneapolis, marking the organization's closure at the end of the summer.

The TQH Sunset was an event for the (history) books - literally! What a wholesome culmination of over a decade of hard work, joyful communion, and futuristic dreaming. Thanks again to our storytellers, Taiwana and Zhi Kai; our Host, Harry Waters Jr.; the Ladies of the Lakes; our staff and volunteers; Queermunity for giving this event a home; and Alex & Ruben for showing their beautiful TQH documentary. We are so grateful to everyone who attended. Photo credit: JUAL Visuals https://www.jual-visuals.com/

The Telling Queer Website will remain online for at least 5 years, featuring all of our exhibit content, timelines, pictures, and videos. Our physical and digital archives will be transferred to the Minnesota Historical Society, the American LGBTQ+ Museum, and local 2SLGBTQIA+ organizations. https://linktr.ee/tellingqueerhistory
